While introspecting the state of Bihar one can easily come across several towns and cities that have developed here by leaps and bounds. One such town is Kanti that has gained prominence amongst some of these places. In fact Kanti is an example of `city and a notified area`. It has its location in the district of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar state.
There are several demographers who have carried surveys in Kanti so that they can throw some light on the demographical scenario of the particular town. As a result they have been successful to enlighten people about the population status, literacy rate etc. In this regard a special mentioning can be made of the census report that has been brought out in the year 2001. According to this report, Kanti showed a population measurement of 20,873. Thus male populace comprises of 53 percent while the population of females is 47 percent only. Thus it becomes clear that the number of males is more than that of females. Information about children who are residing Kanti too can be counted from this report. Thus the kids who are below six years of age constitute of 17 percent of the total population.
This Census report also indicates the literacy situation of Kanti. As has been mentioned here, the average literacy rate of Kanti is 48 percent. It is even lower than the average literacy rate of India, which has been calculated to be 59.5 percent. However, a difference exists between the rates of both male and female literacy. In other words, male literacy rate constitutes of 57 percent. However, female literacy rate constitutes of 38 percent only.
In Kanti, one of the premier attractions includes a thermal power station. For facilitating communication, Kanti is well connected by rails , air and roadways. Airport at Patna lies in close proximity. On the `Muzaffarpur-Motihari rail route` , Kanti Railway Station is situated . National Highway 28 traverses via Kanti town.
