Aurangabad, Bihar
Aurangabad is a city as well as a municipality in the district of Aurangabad, in the state of Bihar, which forms a part of the Indian subcontinent. According to the census of 2001, the population of this city 79,351. The average literacy rate of this city is only 30% and is much lower when compared to the national literacy rate. It is also the headquarters of the Aurangabad district. The city of Aurangabad is situated on the Grand Trunk Road. The language spoken by the people of this region is Magadhi.

The Magadh region was regarded as one of the oldest and strongest empires of the world in the Ancient period. The boundaries of this region spread across to parts of the present day countries of Myanmar, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Indian subcontinent. This was also the region about which a Greek traveler, scholar and writer composed awe-inspiring and relevant information in the 3rd century B.C. the city of Aurangabad also has a good provision for education. Several reputed educational institutes like S.Sinha College, Anugrah Narayan Inter College and Ramlakhan Singh Yadav College are also located in this city.
