When talking about pilgrimage in Bihar, the first image that comes to the mind is of the Mahabodhi Temple and Buddhist monks. But Bihar is so much more than Buddhism. It is home to people of all religion which means one can find pilgrimage spots belonging to all religions. The religious tolerance that the people of Bihar show is really something commendable.

Some of which are considered among the holiest in India. However, Mahabodhi Temple and the adjacent Bodhi Tree deserve a special mention. They are not only the most revered Buddhist site in India, but are considered the apex in entire world. Buddhist Pilgrims from around the world come here to attend sermons and lectures. It was under this Bodhi Tree that Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. Bihar is dotted with Buddhist structures that are spread to all corners in Bihar.
