Mysore is the district of Karnataka state and divisional headquarters, is the ancient royal capital and the garden city. Mysore is the most Tourist interest Places in Karnataka. Mysore is the name comes from mayishapur, the old records speak 'Mayisooru' which has nothing to do with Mahisha or Mahishasura. In the inscriptions found here and elsewhere the place name has been mentioned as 'Mayisooru' which means 'mayi' (antelope) and 'Ooru' meaning place. Mysore declared as State Heritage City recently. Mysore Palace is the Major attraction with Indo-Saracenic exterior and Hoysala interior in Mysore city. This Palace Completed in 1907. The several temples situated in the palace complex, they are the Kote Anjaneya, Kote Maramma, Parshwanatha (near corporation), Kanyaka Parameshwari (Doddapet and Shivaram Pet), Renuka Yellamma (Mysore Karaga fame) near zoo garden, Satyanarayana (Vantikoppal), Raghavendra Math. Mysore also known by other names such as Mysore mallige, the sweet dish Mysore Pak, Mysore Peta.
Chamuni Hill is one of the attractions in Mysore. Top of this hill Chamundi Temples situated with large entrance tower. Mahisasura statue also situated outside of the Chamundi Hill. Large Nandi statue also can see here. the Sachidananda Ganapathi (Dattatreya Peetha) Ashrama and The St. Philomina Church are other attractions of Mysore. Mysore Dasara is world famous festival happening once a year with more than 500,000 peoples including foreigners. Dasara shows tradional style of Mysore odeyar and Army Power, Cultural dances of Karnataka and Development of Karnataka. KRS Dam is the attraction near to Mysore with Beautiful Faountains of Brindavan Garden, Boat riding is the other attraction in KRS Dam. Railway Museum shows History of railway and old trains and railcar.
