चंबा
Chamba district is situated in north western part of Himachal Pradesh. located at an altitude of about 996 mts above the sea level. The town is situated on the bank of river Ravi. Historical record of this district is that it was ruled by Maru Dynasty rulling erom the ancient capital of Bharmour which is located 75 Kms away from the town of Chamba. Chamba district was founded by Raja Sahil Verma and was named after his daughter Champavati.
The town is known for art and culture specially for the Pahari Paintings. The valley is famous for the production of milk and honey in the state and also the base for Gaddi People.
