Jhajha is a small town situated in Jamui District of the eastern state of India, Bihar. Jamui is located 30 km. southeast of Jhajha. The Jhajha Railway Station, a prominent railway station of Bihar is the nearest access point.
It is important to know the demographical situation of a place in order to know it properly. The Census report that has been brought out in the year 2001 throws some light on the Jhajha town. The total population of the city has been estimated to be 36,424. To be specific, males comprise of 53 percent, while the female population constitutes of 47 percent. In Jhajha town, 15 percent of the total population is below six years of age. The literacy rate of the city is also stated in the census report, which is 63 percent for Jhajha. It is higher than the national average literacy rate, which is 59.5%. To be specific, the male literacy rate is 71% and the female literacy rate is 53%.
