| This temple enshrines the idol of Lord Balarama and is visited by hundreds of pilgrims. It is also known as the Anantheshwara temple. It is situated near Malpe port and has a beautiful beach nearby. The sea shore at Vadabhandeshwara where Madhavacharya had a vision of Lord Krishna, is a sacred spot, near which there is a shrine dedeicated to lord Subramanya. Along this line there are many shrines in the name of many Gods. A visit to this temple is best planned in the evening. You get to see the beautiful sunset over the calm sea. Another tip is to keep Udupi as your base and visit the shrines on a day trip. |
