| A place for history buffs is the Mogalarajapuram Caves of the 5th century and is well known for its three cave shrines or temples. One of them has a fabulous and unique carving and sculpture of Ardhanariswara and is believed to be the one and only single one of its kinds in the whole of Southern India. Other spectacular carvings include the Shiva God in Nataraja (dance) form and Vinayaka God. This temple being ancient offers a wealth of knowledge and insight into the ancient ways of living, civilization and culture. |
