Among the few places having a Lenin Statue, one marvelous and imposing statue is erected at Vijayawada along with another one of Karl Marx. These statues symbolize ideals and visions of communism representing the struggle of the working people of the entire world; especially India. These statues were created in the 1980s when the state was under the governance of the communists. During politically significant days like Labor Day, the 1st May, the place is filled with activity and gaiety which include the garlanding of the statues.
