Monastry is situated in the spiti valley. It is known as ajanta of himalayas. At the height of 3050 mt.
It spreads over an area of 6300 sq mts.
Monastry is not open throughout the year because of snowfall in the spiti valley which cuts the valley from whole of the state.
There are only two ways to reach Tabo Monastry
One way is to reach shimla than to spiti via Narkanda
Second way is to reach Kullu and than to spiti via Rohtang Pass
Monastery is spreading education by opening schools to educate the younger generation.
