Ramnagar Fort, situated on the banks of river Ganga was built by Maharaja Balwat Singh during the 17th century. The fort was built with high grade marble and reflects the perfect amalgamation of Indian and Islamic art. The main attraction of this fort is the Darbar hall, the hall of the public audience. The fort was the royal residence of Banaras Raja, also known as Kashi Maharaja. It is still the Royal family's residence.
