Jantar Mantar is an observatory established by Maharaja Jai Singh, the famous Jaipur king who ruled in 18th century. The structure of this observatory is captivating, with many intricate architectural styles that were used to find out the star and planetary movements and local time. It was also an instrument to calculate and predict eclipses and declination of the sun. Jantar Mantar is credited with valuable instruments like Dhruva Yantra, Digansha Yantra, Prakash Yantra and Krantivritta Yantra to record the motion, position and the speed of the stars.
