Tapovan, a pictorial spot with lush greenery, was once part of holy Dandakaranya forest. This place is literally meant for mediation by great sages. The noiseless godavari's stream and beautiful stretch of the green woods are mind relaxing. This sacred place is associated closely with the Ramayana. This is the place where Rama's brother Laxmana cut off Shurpanakhathe's nose, Ravana's sister. This place has the temples of Hanuman and Laxman.
