The Sunheri Mahal was built by a Bandalkand chief who arrived with Aurangzeb into the Dakhan. The Mahal can be found in Paharsingpura, a suburb of Aurangabad. The structure is made of stone and lime and once had a high pedestal but has since become run-down. The paintings in the Mahal had once been painted gold and so it earned the name, Sunheri Mahal. The Sunheri Mahal completes the Mughal magnificence with its remaining faded glory.
