For the art aficionados, Prince of Wales Museum at M.G. Road is a treasure house. Built to commemorate the visit of Prince of Wales to India, this museum was built in the Indo Saracen style of architecture. After independence, the museum came to be known as 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu’. It has artifacts that are classified into three categories: Art, Archeology and Natural History sections. There are rare tribal artifacts, ancient Chinese porcelain items, Buddhist tankhas and many other rare paintings that are worth seeing.
