One of the ancient Maha Kshethram by Perumthachan, Harikanya temple is a pilgrimage site for innumerable tourists and locals. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and as Hari meaning Vishnu and Kanya meaning a virgin that stood for his avatar as a kanya. Many rituals and poojas are held according to start positions and at one period in history was as wealthy and famous as the Guruvayurappan temple.
