A place for archaeology and history buffs is the Victoria Museum (Victoria Jubilee Museum) under the authority of Archaeological Department and situated at the Bundar Road. It has a splendid and fabulous vast varied collection and exhibition of carefully preserved ancient and pre-historic items such as sculptures, inscriptions, arms and weapons, idols, paintings, tools, cutlery, coins, metal works, stone, Neolithic and Mesolithic implements. The major and prized possessions are the standing figure of Buddha which is made of white limestone obtained from Alluru and the massive Buddha statue made of granite. The museum is available on all days except public holidays and Fridays and has no admission fees.
