Another religious place is the Venuban Vihar, situated at around 2 kilometers away from the Agartala city. It is a small Buddha shrine which has a metallic idol of Lord Buddha, of Burmese origins. The Buddha Poornima festival is celebrated with pomp and show; followed by a big fair. Its atmosphere is calm and serene and attracts hordes of tourists and devotees.
