Another place is the Unakoti, a Bengali word meaning "below 10 million". It has exquisite carvings cut out of stone and rock and is around 175 kilometers away from Agartala. The archaeologists consider it to be a spiritual place of the Lord Shiva devotees (Shaivite) in and around 8th to 9th centuries. The legend says that Lord Shiva and his group of 1 crore Goddesses and Gods were traveling to Kashi. On the way, they rested to halt at night with the orders of Lord Shiva to wake up before dawn. Unfortunately all except Shiva slept on which enraged the Lord who cursed and transformed them all to stone. Lord Shiva then proceeded on alone. Hence, you can see "1 less than crore" images here.
