This beach is said to be amongst the longest beaches in Asia with a 13 km long stretch of golden sands lining the city's east coast, from Fort St. George all the way to Mahabalipuram. The beach front is lined with beautiful statues, historic buildings and monumental edifices which are government offices and educational institutions. Lovely artificial fountains set against landscaped gardens and parks add to the charm of the beach front. At the crack of dawn, you will find joggers and fitness enthusiasts working out on the beach.
