A wonderfully carved and constructed palace, Kunjaban Palace is a must to see. It was built by King Birendra Kishore Manikya in 1927 for the purpose of having a place to relax. It is a fabulous monument with its superb carvings and novel construction which reflects the taste and style of the ruler. Ever since the dissolution of the princely state after Indian Independence, the palace is under the care of the Government and is the official abode for the Tripura state's Governor. However, a part of it is open for public sightseeing.
