Usarwardhani Waterfall

Situated near Kansai village, the Usarwardhani waterfalls fall from an awe-inspiring height of 300 feet. However, you need to trek for about 45 minutes through the verdant-forested area to reach this panoramic location.

Uddhar Hot water springs

About 11km away from Nagothane and just 1km before Pali Ganesh temple, the steaming hot water springs in the village Uddhar are well known for their medicinal value. The waters are rich in suphur and are known to cure a variety of skin ailments.

Pali Ganesh Mandir

One of the Ashtavinayakas, Pali Ganesh Mandir is situated in the Taluk Sudhagad close to Nagothane. The temple faces two lakes and the sanctum of the temple is adorned with a three-foot tall deity of Ganesha, flanked on both sides by statues of Riddhi and Siddhi. The original temple had been constructed of wood but was rebuilt with stone in the mid 1700s.

Murud Janjira

The 15th century fort at Murud Janjira is the only one on the Maharashtra coastline never to have been conquered by an enemy. Though the Siddis fought fierce battles with the Portuguese and the British, they were unable to take over the fort. The 40-foot walls around the fort protect it from the pounding of the sea waves.

Fort Raigad and Museum

The Fort Raigad and Museum is an art connoisseur and historian's delight. The collections of ancient artefacts, old photographs, firearms, and weapons dating back to the Shivaji era are highlights of this museum. You can also visit the Raigad Fort and enjoy scenic views from there.

Birla Mandir

The magnificent Birla Mandir is located on the Alibaug-Roah route near Salve village. It was built by Vikram Ispat, a part of the Birla Group of Industries. The well-manicured gardens and milky white marble temple leave pilgrims and visitors with a deep sense of peace.

Bhira Dam

Just 45km away from the town, the huge Bhira Dam provides electricity and irrigation water to the town and surrounding areas. The reservoir is a scenic place that provides a good palce to enjoy a picnic or a boat ride.
