Chittaura Jheel

Chittaura Jheel is a lake situated about 8 km from Bahraich - Gonda Road. A small river, Teri Nadi, flows from this lake. Many migratory birds are found here during August - October.

The ashram of Ashtwarka Muni, the Guru of Maharaja Janak is here. This place has historical importance as a great battle was fought between Maharaja Suheldev and Syyed Masood Gazi.

A large fair is held here on Vasant Panchami.
