Chanpatia is a city as well as a notified area situated in the Pashchim Champaran district in the state of Bihar in India. According to the 2001 India census, Chanpatia has a population of 22,029. Males make up 52% of the population and females amount to 48%. Chanpatia has a mean literacy rate of 49%, lower than the nationwide standard of 59.5%. The male and the female literacy are respectively 58% and 39%. 19% of the population is made up of children less than 6 years of age. The exact geographical location of the city is 26°56`59" North and 84°31`48" East
