Dostpur is a town in Kadipur subdivision of Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. It lies close to the district`s border with Ambedkarnagar District. Amausi Airport serves this town. It is located between 26.28° North latitude and 82.47° East longitude at a height of 81 metres (265 feet) above mean sea level.
According to the 2001 census report, Dostpur had a population of 11,877 inhabitants. Males constitute 53% of the population and females constitute 47% of the population. In Dostpur, 18% of the population is less than six years of age. Dostpur has an average literacy rate of 57%, which is lower than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 63% and, the female literacy rate is 51%.
