The mythologically significant village of Parshuram lies on the Mumbai-Goa National highway 17, at a short distance from Chiplun.

Situated at an altitude of more than 1000 ft above sea level, the village derives its name from the great Immortal Lord Parshuram, believed to be the uplifter of the downtrodden and the sixth incarnation of Vishnu.
