| If you are looking for an ideal weekend getaway, far from the rush and tumble of city life, head for the verdant surroundings of the Dandoba Hill station. A 25 minute drive out from Sangli or Miraj will bring you to this relatively unexplored reserve forest area that is rich in flora and fauna. There is much to do around here. You can explore some of the historically significant and ancient temples in the hills. The hills are ideal for trekking and you can go for long hikes in the surrounding forest area. Water sports are available at the Bhose Irrigation Lake. Pack up your swimming gear and head for the Dreamland Water Park that has lots to offer by way of rides and other amusements. An annual feature of the region is the mini-marathon race from Sangli city up to Dandoba Hill Station. |
