| Initially a small mosque, Nakhoda Mosque was reconstructed by Abdar Rahim Osman, a trader from Kutch in 1926. The beautiful architecture has a resemblance to the tomb of Akbar at Sikandra. It is considered one of the largest mosques in India with a capacity to hold over 10,000 men at a given time. The granite to build the tomb was brought from Tolepur while the doorways are built similar to the Buland Darwaza at Fatehpur Sikri near Agra. |
