Kere Thonnur is village situated 14 km from Srirangapatna. The temples in this village are constructed during the period of Chholas. Moti Talab, a lake which was built by Tippu Sultan is very famous here. Along the shores of the lake lies the tall beautiful trees and using the round boats called as theppas are used for boating in this lake. In this village there is a Bird Sanctuary called The Gende Hosalli Bird Sanctuary, which is a eye-catching place for bird watchers, several species of birds from all over the world come here.
