The Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple is situated on the banks of a rivulet of Pennar. It can be reached by a well-connected bus service from Uravakonda (12 kms) and Anantapur (36 kms).

According to a local myth, this temple has been built on the footprint of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy found on the Pennar river bank. The foot print is said to have measured 5 feet 3 inches.

Surrounded as it is by beautiful lush forests, the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple is a popular location for marriage ceremonies. A grand car festival is celebrated every year in the month of April. Other noteworthy temples within the complex include Adi Laxmi Devi Temple & Chenchu Laxmi Devi Temple.
