| Padmakshi temple, an ancient temple is believed to have been built during first quarter of the 12th century. The beautiful temple at Warangal has Goddess Padmakshi as its main deity and was originally constructed during Kakatiya reign. The temple is located on a hilltop in the heart of the city of Humankind. A majestic pillar known as Anaconda Pillar, a stunning quadrangular column made out of granite black stone is placed at the entrance of this temple. The four faces of the pillar are marvellous and impressive. The sculptures and carvings at the pillar lead many to believe that the site was initially a Join shrine dedicated to a Join Goddess. The temple also has rich sculpture of the Join Tirthankaras and other Jain Gods and Goddesses. The Padmakshi temple is worth visiting and the marvellous structure is eye catching. |
