Sat Tal connotes 'Seven lakes' in Hindi. It bears such nomenclature because it is formed by the interconnection of seven lakes named 'Panna or Garud Tal', 'Nal-Damyanti Tal', 'Purna Tal', 'Sita Tal', 'Ram Tal', 'Laxman Tal', and 'Sukha Tal or Khurdariya'. The location of Sat Tal is around 23 km from Nainital and at a height of 4000 feet above the sea level.
The lake is surrounded by the forest of deodar and pine trees. You can enjoy activities like trekking, paragliding, angling, and rafting.
