| The beautiful Idalcao or Adilshahi Palace, on the banks of the Mandovi River is the oldest historical monument in Panjim. The Portuguese rebuilt the palace of Adil Shah, the Sultan of Bijapur which was a fort originally but was converted into the Viceroy’s palace from 1759 to 1918. Today it is home to the Secretariat and other Government offices of Goa. |
