| This is a popular tourist spot in Ooty. Established on 20th May 1995, in celebration of the centenary of the Ooty flower show, this garden sprawls over 3 to 4 kilometers and is at an elevation of 2200m above sea level. It exhibits a wide variety of roses in the most fascinating colors and sizes. The garden also boasts of more than 10,000 different kinds of roses. Interestingly, all the roses out here have a name of their own, which shows that each of them is taken care of like an individual here. There is also place to sit, where you can sit down and admire nature?s delight through these beauties. The garden is maintained by the Department of horticulture. It is also called as"Centenary Rose Park." The garden has five terraces which houses the largest collection of roses. There is an entry fee to this place and if you wish to take photographs, you will be charged extra for that. A must visit for all nature lovers! |
