The temperature, at times, rises to even 45°C, towards the end of the season. Monsoon
The monsoon season in Chandigarh begins from the end of June and stretches on till the mid of September. Southwest monsoons, with high intensity showers, commence in late June and come as a great relief from the scorching heat of summers. The annual rainfall varies from 700 mm to 1200 mm. In monsoon, the whole of Chandigarh looks green and fresh, with the outpour of drizzling rain. From mid-September, the rain slows down and there is the onset of the post-monsoon or autumn season.
