Tunga fort was primarily built to be used as a watch post for the surrounding forts in the vicinity. Towering at a height of 3525ft above the sea level, this fort looks like a rock is piercing the horizon. The Pavana dam surrounds the fort.
The fort can be reached by a motor boat from the Pawna Dam or you can trek along. The trek to the fort is very steep and the route is very slippery. You can also take the local state transport buses to till the foot of the fort and it is just an hour trek from there. |
