This national park has more than thousand species of plants, 28 species of mammals, 181 species of birds, around 20 species of reptiles, 5 species of amphibians, besides large variety of fishes, insects and other life forms. The main attraction of Pench is the tiger, one also has chances to see leopards, gaur, wild boar, nilgai, sambar and chital. The Tadoba Lake is at the centre of the reserve. It has migratory ducks visiting in winter, and is also home to crocodiles. The animals that can be sighted in Tadoba National Park, Maharashtra include large herds of Chitals, Sambars, Barking Deers, Chausingas, Neel Gais, Sloth Bears, Indian Bisons, Wild Dogs, Wild Boars and Leopards. One can also get to see Gaur, Hyenas, Civet, Jungle Cats and several other rare species of animals. However the greatest attraction is undisputedly the majestic tiger.
